So you want to be a Cheshire Cat? What a mad idea! Fortunately, we Dreamers can help, because we’re all mad here…

There are some amazing Alice adaptations out there (American McGee’s video game series comes to mind), but for now, let’s talk about the Disney version with the striking stripes. Depending on which source images you’re looking at, your cat might be more on the purple side, or a slightly pinker flavor. Some of our more popular options include Super Stripes in Dark Red & Plum, or N Stripes in Raspberry & Purple, or Purple Knees in Dark Red, Denim, or even Plum.

My personal favorite, though, is definitely the Purple Knees in Bubblegum, pictured above. Last year, I wore them with a black straitjacket and this face paint (seen here on Karin Dreijer Andersson of Fever Ray, spotted ever-so-briefly at 2:42 in the video for “If I Had A Heart”)— and I’m still not sure how I’m going to top it this year! Without the socks, the costume would’ve just been spooky, but adding those striped socks was what made the character.
